European Researchers’ Night 2020

The European Researchers’ Night is a Europe-wide public event as a bridge that connects researchers and the common public. In particular, SuperScienceMe – REsearch is your R-Evolution, is the new title of the Researchers’ Night, which represented a formal occurrence to celebrated science in Calabria since 2014. The Night showcases the heterogeneity of science and its impact on citizens’ daily lives, stimulating interest in research careers.

University of Calabria, University “Magna Græcia” of Catanzaro, Mediterranean University, CNR, Calabria Region and the University of Basilicata, together to tell the evolution in science starting from prehistory.

“From arbitrary drug to the tailor-made drug” is the main topic chosen by Net4Science for this journey into the world of research. We will start from the concept of “serendipity”, or rather from the role that chance and luck have had in the Life Sciences. Furthermore, the scientific tools to rationalize the approach in the development of biologically active substances, like drugs or nutraceuticals, will be introduced. Finally, we will give successful examples where this approach has been helpful, referring to the priorities that today and in the future will suggest the development of new therapeutic agents, including pandemics such as that of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

SuperScienceMe will provide to the public a journey inside laboratories, museums, places of advanced technology. The platform will contain videos of all these experiences and will also broadcast the live recording of the scientific-cultural activities.

Net4Science per la Notte dei Ricercatori 2020

SuperScienceMe – REsearch is your R-Evolution, è il nuovo titolo della Notte dei Ricercatori che dal 2014 celebra la scienza in Calabria. Università della Calabria, Università Magna Græcia, Università Mediterranea, CNR, Regione Calabria e Università della Basilicata, insieme per raccontare l’evoluzione nella Scienza partendo dalla Preistoria.

“Dal farmaco per caso a quello su misura” è l’argomento che Net4Science ha scelto per questo fantastico viaggio nel mondo della ricerca. Si partirà dal concetto di “serendipity”, ovvero dal ruolo che nelle Scienze della Vita hanno avuto il caso e la fortuna. Quindi, si introdurranno gli strumenti scientifici per rendere razionale l’approccio nello sviluppo di sostanze biologicamente attive, utili come farmaci o nutraceutici. Infine, si porteranno esempi in cui tale approccio ha avuto successo, facendo riferimento alle priorità che oggi e nel futuro suggeriranno lo sviluppo di nuovi agenti terapeutici, incluse le pandemie come quella del virus SARS-CoV-2.

SuperScienceMe offrirà al pubblico un viaggio che condurrà nei laboratori, nei musei, nei luoghi di avanguardia tecnologica. La piattaforma conterrà i video di tutte queste esperienze e trasmetterà, altresì, la diretta delle attività scientifico-culturali.
