Net4Science has participated at the virtual meeting YRFM edition 2021
Recently, Net4Science participated to the web meeting “Young Research Fellow Meeting” coordinated by the YRFM organizing committee and the Société de Chimie Thérapeutique in Paris – 11-12 February 2021. The conference tackled key up to date themes, including the development of new chemical probes and tools, precision medicine through novel mode of actions, natural compounds synthesis, protein-protein interactions, etc. This year virtual edition gathered about 250 participants, 18 oral presentations and 20 flash poster communications and showed the continuing international attraction of this event. Notably, for the first time the meeting was attended by scientific experts coming from Asia, Africa, and South America.
Francesco Mesiti, Ph.D. researcher of Net4Science academic spin-off, gave his contribution to the international web meeting. His talk regarded an oral communication about “The influence of 4-oxoquinoline tautomerism in the MAOs inhibition”. Remarkably, his most relevant results were focused on the development of new anti-Parkinson compounds based on natural occurring scaffold. Furthermore, his oral talk faced the ambiguous issue related to the characterization of the quinoline tautomeric structures. Additional details about this research activity are available in the recent published article on the prestigious journal “European Journal of Medicinal Chemistry” (doi.org/10.1016/j.ejmech.2021.113183). The scientific project was performed in collaboration with the Faculty of Science and Pharmacy of Porto (Portugal) and the Faculty of Pharmacy of Santiago de Compostela (Spain).
